It's safe to say that Park Royal in Kuala Lumpur is quite a classy hotel. It may not be the cheapest hotel, but that being said, Park Royal offers some of the best value for money in KL.
Great care has been taken in Park Royal's design both architecturally, as well as with regards to its interior decoration. Best of all, hotel guest comfort evidently featured high on the list of objectives, that much is clear.
Kuala Lumpur's Park Royal
But that's not all. KL's Park Royal is located strategically too; it offers a number of shopping malls, plenty of eateries, including fine dining establishments, all within a walkable radius. And the KL monorail is a mere few minutes' walk away too. Even KLCC is within walking distance, albeit a brisk 10 minutes or so.
If you're into fitness work-outs, then rest assured, because Park Royal not only has a very decent gym, but its swimming pool, in spite of perhaps not being the biggest around, is more than adequate for getting your laps in.
Exclusive rooms at an attractive price
We checked in without a hitch. Staff is more than capable and pleasant. English is not a problem whatsoever for any of the personnel we liaised with during our stay. Hotel staff in Malaysia is often is brought in from neighboring countries, such as Thailand, Indonesia and Philippines. Whilst certainly courteous and helpful, communicating in English with these nationalities is not always as smooth as it really ought to be in the hospitality industry. But no such issues at Park Royal in Kuala Lumpur. Well done to management on this count.
Plenty of space for families too
Our room was spacious enough, very clean and smelled fresh as a daisy. Sure, the room interior isn't the most contemporary, but it does offer plenty of high notes. Take the lighting, for instance. The number of lights in the room, their intensity and their location made for an optimized balance between comfortable and ergonomic.
The aircon, whilst surprisingly quiet, did a great job at keeping the room in our temperature sweet-spot. And thanks to the quality bed, we woke up ever so rested. A hotel room bed can make or break your stay in that hotel. Park Royal's bed was firmly (pun intended) in the former category.
In addition, the room offers generous amenities, including complimentary bottles of water, coffee and tea, all of which replenished daily. There's also free room wi-fi and free newspapers of your choice. There's even a free printing facility at the Business Centre for those on a work trip.
The bathroom may not be the most glam bathroom you've seen, but it is spotless and well-maintained.
We thoroughly enjoyed the Park Royal breakfast buffet. It was superb - plenty of choice and all dishes sampled were very well prepared. In fact, the restaurant as a whole was run quite efficiently, even though it was obviously busy this particular morning.
Overall, a good time was had. Top marks for Park Royal in Kuala Lumpur.
