Tanjung Gemuk to Tioman

Tanjung Gemuk is the other gateway from where you can catch the ferry to Tioman. Tanjung Gemok is located near Rompin, about 20-30 minutes north of Mersing.

Some travelers prefer departing to Tioman from Tanjung Gemuk, because there's fewer local weather and water state issues that at times may plague Mersing. The downside of Tanjung Gemuk, however, is that it's a longer drive from Singapore and it's not quite as accessible for taxi or bus when returning to Singapore.

Driving to Tanjung Gemuk

If you are driving from KL, instead of exiting the North-South Expressway at Ayer Hitam and following the Kluang route, exit Seremban instead, then follow Kuala Pilah, Muadzam Shah and then drive along the coastal road.

If you're driving from Singapore, just keep going towards Mersing until you see Tanjung Gemuk. The drive from Singapore to Tanjung Gemuk is generally slightly longer than to Mersing. But the upside is that the ferry crossing from Tanjung Gemuk to Tioman is generally shorter.

Easy ticket collection
