Feedback from an actual Rinda Room guest

Home / Tickets / Update* / Blog

Rinda Room is a great little hostel, located in quite a lovely shady environment at the northern, i.e. the top end, of the village of Air Batang, a.k.a. ABC. Given its orientation and slow idyllic pace, Rinda Room is ideal for lazy days by the sea.

My boyfriend and I enjoyed the sun-sets in particular. Stoning away whilst the sun turns red and then slowly drops beneath the watery horizon was absolutely bliss, courtesy, in part, of our awesome hammocks

Rinda Room caters to the budget-category travelers, like we are, as the little cottages here are simple. We loved the room rates, which we were told beforehand, are probably some of the lowest available in Tioman.

However, cheap rates notwithstanding, we found the rooms clean and comfy. Just keep in mind not to expect any glam or swank. If you wan the lowest rates, then you'll love Rinda Room. At Rinda Room, less is more :)

Mind you, Rinda House does offer an in-house cafe with its own cafeteria. And all cottages are situated in a pretty garden that's being maintained well.

True, the room was smallish, but came equipped with a mosquito net and a bathroom.

As far as my boyfriend and I were concerned, Rinda Room was understated and rather basic, sure. But you know what? That was just what the doctor ordered.

We found Rinda Room a little elusive and they weren't so easy to book in advance. However, they may well be on Agoda now, so try there first. If that doesn't work, then try calling either 013 928 0057 or 09 419 1157.

[Edit: Both phone numbers above are now defunct and Rinda Room appears out of commission]

Want to reserve your ferry for Rinda Room now? Use the booking form below.

Pro Tip: Not sure which jetty to select in the booking form? You can choose any of the jetties in the form, because the ferry typically (though there's the occasional exception) goes to each of the main jetties listed.
