If you're looking for a very comfortable place to stay near a shopping mall with a lot of good food options, all within walking distance, then KSL Hotel & Resort is the place for you. In fact, the adjacent mall has secure access from the hotel itself.
Of course, the fact that KSL Hotel & Resort offers service apartments too, rather than just regular hotel rooms, will also be part of the reason you'd choose to stay at KSL Hotel & Resort I suspect.
KSL Dinosaur Park - a hit with the kids
Checking in at KSL Hotel & Resort was easy. We'd booked online quite a while beforehand and all our reservation particulars were called up instantly by reception - easy. In fact, we were in our room, unpacking our luggage within minutes. Great!
Our room was nice; clean, quite spacious, plus it came inclusive of basic amenities, such as a fridge, induction stove, as well as a rice cooker. Breakfast we had at the buffet, which was a generous spread of your typical fare of both Western and Asian cuisine.

Naturally, given the attached kitchenette in our service apartment, we also opted for some in-room meals, creating a little bit of a home away from home effect.
Our unit would have had top marks if it had had good wi-fi. The lobby wi-fi was superb, however.
The dinosaur water theme park was a hit with the kids. And speaking of kids, KSL Hotel & Resort offers a shuttle service to other fun parks nearby, such as Legoland and Angry Bird Park. The kids also had a blast in the KSL Hotel & Resort pool, which is more than adequate.

Incidentally, for those that intend to come by car, you'll find plenty of parking space in KSL Hotel & Resort's secure car park.
The other thing we liked, since we drove up from Singapore, was the fact that KSL Hotel & Resort is mere minutes from the Causeway.
In a nutshell, KSL Hotel & Resort is excellent value for money. Location-wise it's top of the bill and there's plenty of activities for the kids within easy reach.

Food and beverage options can be found in-house as well as outside the hotel perimeter, such as the next-door mall and various eateries nearby.
Frankly, the room was quite above-par. Add in a good room wi-fi connection and KSL Hotel & Resort will earn straight A's all-around.
Tips: Bring some cash with you if you're taking your kids to the dino park, because, whilst it is free for KSL Hotel & Resort guests, some equipment items need to be rented.
Also, as I noted above, stating your preferences while making your online reservation really speeds up the check-in process.
By the way, we found out that our online booking was cheaper by about 20% than if we had made a walk-in booking. Ok, last tip: Get a higher-floor room, the city view is spectacular. Enjoy your stay :)
