Tioman Kayaking

Home / Tickets / Update* / Blog

Outside the NE monsoon months, the waters around Tioman are a kayaker's paradise. You can just kayak around the beach or venture further afield and go on a kayaking expedition of varying distances, depending on your skill level and fitness. Blessed with mostly calm conditions and peppered with dozens of pristine little islands, the Tioman area has no shortage of idyllic beaches to visit.

Best of all, there's no need to have a kayak of your own, because Tioman's beaches have sturdy kayaks available that are not only comfortable and stable but also impossible to sink. In fact, once you've got the hang of it, these kayaks offer a smooth, almost effortless ride, ideal for a fun dose of splashing around with your mates.

Grab one of our kayaks with your friends and paddle away to the breathtaking island Pulau Renggis, which is just a 20-30 minute paddle away. Pulau Renggis is said to be Tioman's ultimate snorkeling location, because the waters around the island aren't only crystal-clear, but relatively shallow as well and very accessible for snorkelers. Best of all, you'll find the waters around Renggis positively teeming with fish of all sizes and colours. And if you're lucky, you may even come face to face with a couple of inquisitive turtles, Fred and Dolly, that made Renggis their home.

So, bring a mask, flippers and snorkel, available at our beach shack, and get ready for a boat-load of fun above and below the waterline.

By the way, kayak anglers, you want to have a go at angling from our kayaks here off Tioman? Then you came to the right place. Tioman is surrounded by a no-angling zone, for obvious reasons, but we'll take you 2 miles off-shore, kayaks and all, which is where the bigger catches are anyway.

Please note that for this kind of rough and tumble kayak action, a minimum of one star is required. And lastly, wearing our life-jacket, provided free of charge, is compulsory while kayaking.
