We stayed at East Divers Resort whilst doing the Open Water dive course at East Divers Tioman. The fact that you can do the diving close to the place of your temporary abode is pretty convenient, since the course is pretty tough at times. It's great that you can just shed all your gear once you're back from the diving and then collapse into your room, happy and satisfied.
Now, the room was rather basic, but it worked for us, since we just needed two things: 1) a roof over our heads and 2) to complete the dive course.
Having a beach so nearby was awesome, particularly since it's actually very suitable for diving and snorkeling too. Best part was that it was clean and had some nice coral patches that seemed to be spawning anew.
The staff at East Divers, both at the dive center and the accommodation, are above par. We've been to quite a few chalet-based lodgings in the area, but East Divers' staff are the friendliest. And we found them not only experienced and patient but quite knowledgeable too when it came to the diving course. Well done guys and gals.
If you're a foodie, best not expect too much of a culinary masterpiece during "makan" time. That's not to say the food isn't nice mind you, given that both local and western meals were available. It's just that the dishes are nothing major, but great for filling your tummy after a long day out and about. The local pizza gets special mention, however, as the consensus is that it's very happening.
East Divers and East Divers Resort are great, good atmosphere, great people and altogether a very good time was had. Plus we got our Open Water dive certificate :)

We came across East Divers Resort on Tripadvisor, but they may also be bookable on Agoda or Booking.com.
