My friends, Coral Reef Holiday Beach Resort is backpacker paradise. I've stayed at quite a few budget lodgings, in Asia and further afield, but the deal we got at Coral Reef Holiday Beach Resort beat the best deal we'd had until then.
Now, this being said, I should point out that we're backpackers, i.e. we're not looking for glitter, glamor, or any kind of swankiness, in our temporary place of abode. We need a roof over our heads, a decent bed, along with either a fan or aircon and a shower. That's pretty much it. Once we can tick these off our accommodation list, preferably at a sweet price, we're happy.

Welcome to Coral Reef Holiday Beach
Resort, Tekek, Tioman Island
Mind you, Coral Reef Holiday Beach Resort offers way more than what's on our accommodation list. And this is why we were so happy with the deal we got here.
For all those thinking of staying at Coral Reef Holiday Beach Resort, let me elaborate on our stay here. Hopefully, our experience will help you make your decision.
In a nutshell, Coral Reef Holiday Beach Resort offers a beach front longhouse with rooms facing the sea. Apart from simply stunning sunsets, you get a decent bed, airconditioning and even a tv, for those keen to stay abreast of the news I guess.

Coral Reef Holiday Beach Resort offers
decent rooms at a decent rate
We took the aircon room, but in hindsight, I the think fan-only room would have been fine too, given the closeness to the beach (read: sea breezes).
But there's more at Coral Reef Holiday Beach Resort, because you also get a little patio from which to enjoy the afore-mentioned sunset, as well as an electric kettle for tea and/or coffee.
If you need an iron, no idea why but there you go, or a mosquito net, you can get these upon request.
Coral Reef Holiday Beach Resort guests also get to enjoy free Wi-Fi around the public areas of the resort. It's not the Warp Factor type, but it'll do just nicely.
Meals can be had at the Coral Reef Restaurant. They serve local and Asian dishes, as well as seafood. Have a beach BBQ - it's great.
If you want to explore Tioman a bit, you can, because there are sight-seeing trips you can go on, as well as
island-hopping/snorkeling/
scubadiving excursions. Just pop into the Coral Reef Holiday Beach Resort reception to have them set you up.
For those interested, not too far from Coral Reef Holiday Beach Resort there's a fun little pub called Tioman Cabana Bar. It's got a laid-back fun vibe, plays non-intrusive songs and - wait for it - sells alcoholic beverages at a friendly price.
Suffice to say that Tioman Cabana Bar quickly became our perch during this trip. Kicking back, soaking up the atmosphere whilst having a cold one. Life doesn't get much better than this.
Tip:
Coral Reef Holiday Beach Resort is pretty much at the foot of a jungle treeline, so if you're easily freaked by uninvited guests of the multi-legged variety, then perhaps best looks elsewhere for your holiday chalet. Incidentally, wee bugs notwithstanding, I spotted that Lonely Planet recommends Coral Reef Holidays, which, as far as recommendations go, is a pretty heavy-duty one. My last tip is to not wait too long before you book your ferry to Tioman. It appears that these days, there's more accommodation rooms in Tioman than there are ferry seats to these rooms.
Want to reserve your ferry for Coral Reef Holiday Beach Resort now? Use the booking form below.
Pro Tip: Not sure which jetty to select in the booking form? You can choose any of the jetties in the form, because the ferry typically (though there's the occasional exception) goes to each of the main jetties listed.
