My wife and I wanted a long weekend away and we'd decided on Agro Beach Resort and Spa, in bintan, Indonesia. We booked our room on Agoda, and two weeks later we were making our way on the Bintan Resorts Ferry, from Singapore, the Tanah Merah Ferry Terminal, to the top end of bintan. The ferry ride was comfortable, punctual and otherwise uneventful.
After arriving at the bintan terminal, our Agro Beach Resort and Spa shuttle was already standing by, so we hopped in and got ready for our Agro Beach Resort and Spa experience. The drive there took about an hour, mostly through grassland sceneries.
Check-in at Agro Beach Resort and Spa was easy; we just needed to show our Agoda details on our mobile and then were led to our room.
Agro Beach Resort and Spa is idyllically located along a serene stretch of flat-water sea. In fact, it seems that the beach extends out onto a shallow plateau, almost as far as the eye can see. We later found out that the waters here are about hip-deep shallow at high-tide - ideal for bananaboat-riding, snorkeling and the other activities arranged at Agro Beach Resort and Spa. At low tide, you can actually walk quite far out, as the area becomes exposed.
Our room was the Junior Suite. It was spacious and was furnished with some decent extras. The tv was a large-screen model and there were plenty of channels to choose from. The room also offered a tea/coffee corner with some instant coffee and tea provided. We absolutely loved the couple's swing on the big verandah. Plenty of our time at Agro Beach Resort and Spa was spent swaying away gently in blissful silence together.
This room has its own dedicated wifi and the connection was stable and plenty speedy. It was great being able to send our holiday updates back home to our family and friends without interruptions. If you're looking to get in a few hours of business emailing during your trip, no worries, the internet connection is solid enough for us to be able to recommend the Junior Suite.

Agro Beach Resort and Spa has two main restaurants, both with lovely sea views. We found Sunmoon a little more exquisite than the Asiana, which served more of a breakfast and quite bite purpose. The hotplate dishes at Sun Moon were particularly scrumptious.
As for activities, we went on a snorkeling outing to "White Sands" Island, just opposite from Agro Beach Resort and Spa and we also had a very enjoyable spa treatment. The snorkeling was quite a lot of fun, not only because we saw plenty of nemo fish. but also because we got to stroll around White Sands Island later that day. This was quite a special experience, since the island is actually uninhabited. Very Nice.
