Easter, in particular Good Friday, have been said to be the most long-lived of all of the Christian festivals. As a matter of fact, Good Friday and Easter date back even further than Christmas, which has been the mainstay of Christian events.
As it happens, despite Christmas being the most commercialized tradition, Good Friday and Easter are actually considered more significant dates as far as the Christian calendar is concerned.
Typically, Easter is understood to comprise both Good Friday and Easter Sunday, which are separated by three days. That being said, strictly speaking, Easter by right should refer to just the Easter Sunday. Traditionally, this is the day Jesus' resurrection is remembered as well as celebrated by those who subscribe to the Christian faith.
For a considerable proportion of Christians that believe in the Church calendar, Easter involves 40 days of fasting. Good Friday and Easter Sunday are subsequently typified by Church services that are imbued with morale and importance.
Now, this year, the year 2025, Good Friday falls on April 18th, ideal for those looking for a long weekend to spend together on a sunny tropical isle with friends, loved ones or immediate family. In fact, Good Friday and Easter in 2025 are a great time for R&R in Tioman. Tioman is superb for enjoying the wee paradise island's sun, sand, sea and surf.
What's more, the month of April is ideal Tioman time, because it marks the end of the monsoon season. This means that the windy, rugged weather typical of the December to February period has made way for a fair and stable atmosphere, rendering the sea around Tioman flat and gin-clear. Excellent for swimming and snorkeling, as well as, of course, scubadiving
For those who like water activities, as well as those keen to just spend some quality time on a gorgeous beach, we wish you a Happy Happy Good Friday and a Wonderful Easter :)

If you prefer taking a taxi to Mersing, then you can book your vehicle here.
Lastly, please note that, on any given day, Tioman's accommodation exceeds the number of available ferry seats to the island. The reason for this is the number of new hotels and resorts having opened their doors in Tioman recently. The ferry has not been able to keep up with this pace, due to the number of daily ferry crossings actually being limited by the shallow waterways around Mersing. Basically, the tides only allow a fairly narrow window of sailngs.
In view of this, we recommend that travelers to Tioman, particularly during public holidays, school holidays and weekends, ensure that ferry tickets are booked ahead of time. Imagine the disappointment of having a hotel booking in hand, but having to stay behind in Mersing until the next day because of the ferry being fully booked. FYI, peak season is !
