NOTE: If you're taking the Bintan Resorts Ferry to Bintan, use below reservation form
Bintan is the biggest island of the Riau Archipelago, a sea-logged territory in Indonesia. Bintan Island sits just south of Singapore and Bintan's capital is Tanjung Pinang.
Bintan is part of the Free Trade Zone between Singapore and Batam and the Karimun islands. One of the spin-offs of this agreement was the development of Bintan Resorts, quite a spectacular beach holiday destination situated in the north of the island, most of it alongside Bintan's sandy white coast.
Once Bintan Resorts was completed, it wasn't long before it became Bintan's main tourist draw. And small wonder, because Bintan Resorts covers no fewer than 23,000 hectares and offers a lot of opportunities for beach activities, snorkeling, scubadiving, wildlife adventure, including eco-tours and even surfing.
But Bintan is also an epicenter for general relaxation, luxurious spa treatments and other kinds of wellness therapies. In fact, you'll be spoilt for choice when you see the wide variety of spa types on offer.
Bintan Resorts' proximity to Singapore also makes it the ideal location for holding corporate meetings and Team-building weekends. But in spite of its proximity to Singapore, Bintan Resorts is the ideal location to get away from the hustle and bustle of busy Singapore.
Given many Singaporeans' proclivity for golf, Bintan Resorts' designers wasted no time to include no fewer than five golf courses, each of them superb. For example, take The Jack Nicklaus Sea View Golf course or The Ian Baker-Finch Woodlands Golf course. Both golf courses offer sensational signature holes, challenging greens, spectacular fairways and panoramic water hazards.
Bintan Resorts' other courses include the Laguna Bintan Golf Club and The Ria Bintan Championship Golf Course, which, incidentally, was awarded Asia’s Best Golf Course in 2008.
Seafood is an absolutely special treat in Bintan. In fact, no visit to Bintan would be complete without sampling some of the freshly caught seafood served in one of Bintan's unique seafood stalls. Or go for one of the quaint restaurants built on stilts. A truly memorable experience. Tip: Try the chilli crab. It's nothing short of delectable.
One of Bintan Resorts' various fortes is its internationally-acclaimed hotels and resorts.
